1.0 Newer estates
Around Epsom, Huntly, Maiden Gully, Strathfieldsaye and Junortoun, most houses are plasterboard on timber or steel frames. That means TVs and heavy shelves go on the studs, flat-pack gets anchored to a stud, and doors usually only need their hinges set.
2.0 Older streets
Central Bendigo, Golden Square, Eaglehawk, Flora Hill and Kennington have plenty of older timber houses, some with lath-and-plaster walls, and doorways that have moved over the years. Parts of the city are under heritage overlays; if a change will show from the street, check the City of Greater Bendigo's heritage planning pages first.
3.0 Before we drill
Many houses here were built before 1990. Better Health Victoria advises testing suspect sheeting before it's disturbed. We don't drill, cut or patch anything that could be asbestos; if we find it, we stop and tell you.
4.0 Rentals
Landlords and agents can send a list for one property, or several. Consumer Affairs Victoria publishes the minimum standards for rental properties; we fit hardware and fix what's on the list, and the rental provider confirms the standards are met.
5.0 Covered
Just outside? Ask anyway with your suburb, and we'll tell you straight whether we can get there.
